Indian Legal Market Off-Limits for Foreign Lawers

Forget about the protectionist streak against Outsourcing here in the West. As we’ve mentioned before, India and Brazil have basically kicked foreign lawyers and firms out of the country.

“The position as it stands as of now is that the practice of law in India is governed by the Advocates Act of 1961,” Ross wrote at  LawScribe, Inc.  “Foreign law firms are simply not allowed to engage in the practice of law in India.”
