SABANY Hosting Annual Leadership Awards Gala

The South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY) will celebrate its fourth annual Leadership Awards Gala on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. This year’s Gala will be held at Bridgewaters South Street Seaport, located at 11 Fulton Street, New York, NY, beginning at 7 p.m. The event will include South Asian American attorneys from New York and across the country, both in-house counsel and private practitioners, as well as influential business leaders with interests in the South Asian business market.

One of the highlights of the Gala will be the presentation of the SABANY Leadership Awards to honorees that have demonstrated leadership within their profession and to their community:

Corporate Leadership Award
Rohan S. Weerasinghe, Senior Partner, Shearman & Sterling LLP

Corporate Counsel Award
Bobby Sharma, VP and General Counsel, NBA Development League

Access to Justice Award
Nusrat Choudhury, Staff Attorney, National Security Project of the American Civil Liberties Union

Legal Trailblazer Award
Manavinder Bains, Chief Counsel for Technology, NYSE Euronext
